The Camino Mozárabe is one of the quieter routes to Santiago, beginning in southern Spain and passing through landscapes that can feel a world away from the busier Camino routes.

I walked the Camino Mozárabe from Almería to Santiago, discovering the particular rhythm that comes from walking day after day, often for hours at a time, with little more than a backpack and your own thoughts.

There were long stretches of solitude, difficult climbs, hot days and simple accommodation. There were also unexpected encounters, beautiful landscapes and the small kindnesses that seem to appear when you are walking the Camino.

This is not a collection of perfect travel stories. It is about what the Camino actually feels like, the good days, the difficult days, the people you meet and the things you learn when ordinary life is temporarily left behind.

I will share practical experiences too, including routes, accommodation, food, costs and the realities of walking this less-traveled Camino.

Most of all, these are stories about walking, and about what can happen when you simply keep putting one foot in front of the other.
