I was born in England, in one of the maternity units at the hospital in Shoreham-by-Sea.

I grew up by the sea until I became a landlubber and moved to Oxford, where I read Theology and Philosophy.

I then decided to jump ship when I was in my early twenties, devoting my life to avoiding living in England.

England was once part of the mighty British Empire, whose sun still – to this day – technically never sets.

One of the aspects I love about my country of birth is how it embraced multiculturalism, drawing in talent from around the world and evolving essential societal qualities such as its cuisine, music, and sciences.

Having lived abroad for so long now, I have no pressing reasons to return to live in what is a slowly sinking ship.

Brexit was a disaster, as is the entrenched prejudicial political-class system that still favors Etonian and Harrow students who have little to no understanding of the trials and tribulations of the “common people.”

One can only hope and pray that in the future, the people of England will have the opportunity to vote for ministers and prime ministers who are adept and altruistic instead of the daughters and sons of self-serving “public servants.”
